General Questions
Ausbildung (or Duale Ausbildung) is a structured vocational training program combining classroom instruction at a vocational school (Berufsschule) and practical training at a company. It typically lasts 2 to 3.5 years and is available in fields like nursing, hospitality, logistics, IT, and more.
You may be eligible if you:
- Have completed 10+2 or equivalent
- Possess German language proficiency (minimum B1; B2 preferred)
- Have a keen interest in vocational training and working in Germany
- Can provide necessary documents (certificates, language proof, passport, CV, etc.)

B2 (4 Modules) is strongly recommended and often required by employers or for specific sectors like healthcare and elderly care. However, most of the program though a minimum B1 level is specified but options are extremely restricted required.
a. The full process, including documentation, employer matching, interviews, and visa takes anywhere between 3 to 6 months.
b. Please remember to consider the time taken to acquire the language certifications which takes 6 to 12 months, depending upon candidates’ ability.
